Day 1 – 2  | Honolulu – Taipei
We start our vacation by boarding an international flight to Hong Kong via Taipei.  Meals and snacks will be provided on board.

*** Meet at the airport on Sunday night, Feb.11 ***

Day 3   | Taipei – Hong Kong | (L)
Upon our arrival at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport in the morning, we will take a short connecting flight to Hong Kong International Airport.  Hong Kong is one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities where East truly meets West.   It is one of the world’s most significant financial center, shopping and food paradise city.  We will be greeted by an Air & Sea Travel representative.  Famous Cantonese Dim Sum will be served today for lunch.  Dim Sum is originally from Canton, and prepared as small bite-sized portions of food served in small steamer baskets or on small plates.  After lunch, we will transfer to our hotel and enjoy free time for the rest of the day.

Day 4 | Hong Kong – Macau – Hong Kong   | (B, L)
After breakfast, we will transfer to the World’s biggest casino city and one of the oldest European Settlement in the Orient – Macau.  First stop, the Ruins of St. Paul’s, a grand imposing facade of an early 16th century church designed by Italians and built by Japanese Christian exiles.   Now, it is one of Macau’s best known landmarks and officially listed as part of the Macau’s historic center, the 31st designated UNESCO World Heritage site in China.  Afterwards, we will visit the Macau Tower, the 11th highest tower in the world.  Entry to the observation deck is optional.  The A-Ma Temple, is a temple to the Chinese sea-goddess Mazu located in São Lourenço, Macau and was built in 1488.  After lunch, we can also be able to try our luck at the Macau Casino before returning to Hong Kong.

Day 5  | Hong Kong | (B, D)
After breakfast, we will be amazed by this exciting City of Life with a half-day tour.  Our highlights include Victoria Peak (with a ride on the Peak Tram), a major tourist attraction of Hong Kong that offers views over Central Hong Kong, Victoria Harbor, Lamma Island and the surrounding islands.  Next, we will visit Aberdeen Fishing Village, once a thriving fishing village on Hong Kong Island.  Now, there are as many luxury yachts and sailboats as there are fishing trawlers and sampans. The magic of this ancient fishing port remains and continues to be a scenic highlight for any Hong Kong Island tour.  We will end our half day city tour at Stanley Market.  The street is a typical example of a traditional old open-air market in Hong Kong and has since become a major tourist attraction.  The biggest event of any Chinese New Year’s Eve is the Reunion Dinner, called “Nian Ye Fan”.  This meal is comparable to Thanksgiving dinner in the U.S. and remotely similar to Christmas dinner in other countries with a large Christian population.  This evening we will enjoy a special Chinese New Year’s Eve Dinner.  After dinner, our tour manager will take us to the most famous Lunar New Year Fair, also called Flower Market by the local people, and is a type of fair held annually a few days before Lunar New Year.  We can feel the traditional Chinese New Year Eve atmosphere here.

Day 6  | Hong Kong  | (B)
Kung Hee Fat Choy!!  Today is the first day of Chinese New Year, known in modern Chinese as the “Spring Festival”.  We can enjoy this atmosphere on our own.  Late this afternoon, we will walk to Tsimshatsui and join the local crowds to celebrate one of the most well known and biggest events of the year, the Chinese Lunar New Year Parade!  Our Reserved Seats will provide us a perfect view of the International Parade.  As one of the world’s most festive events, the parade is comprised of colorful floats, dragon dancers, celebrities and performers from all over the world.

Day 7 | Hong Kong | (B)
The second day of the Chinese New Year, known as “beginning of the year” was when married daughters visited their birth parents, relatives and close friends.  Traditionally, married daughters didn’t have the opportunity to visit their families frequently.  Today, you can take an optional day excursion to Lantau Island or spend leisure time on your own.  The celebration continues tonight with a magnificent Lunar New Year Fireworks Show over Victoria Harbor.  We will get together to watch the beautiful Fireworks shooting from the tops of skyscrapers.  This fireworks display has been an annual event in Hong Kong since 1982 and has become a Chinese New Year greeting to the citizens.

Day 8 | Hong Kong – Honolulu | (B, L)
After breakfast, we will go to Sha Tin Racecourse to see the Traditional Chinese New Year Horse Races.  A Private Box is reserved for our group.  This is a legalized gambling event and one of the most popular sports in Hong Kong.  Enjoy this exciting race and try your luck in the New Year.  A Premium Buffet lunch With Complimentary Drinks, Including Wines and Liquors will be provided.  You will have a very pleasant and comfortable experience in the balcony private box that offers unparalleled views of the racetrack.  After this special New Year event, we will drive to the airport for our return flight home, ending our fantastic tour of the Hong Kong Chinese New Year Celebration.  We will fly back home via Taipei.
